my blendsmiths journey begins!

These past few months have been a whirlwind! I started my new role as Sales Executive back in November of 2025, and since then, no two days have been the same. I’ve always loved having variety as a key part of my work, so this suits me just fine.

Some days I’m at home working on reach-outs, helping with copy for sales materials, and some days I’m out and about speaking to coffee shop owners and showcasing our amazing products. The fact that our blends taste so great makes my job a lot easier, although it was a bit of a challenge to remember them all and how to make them at the start!

My first week ended with me making lots of chai and chocolate for an activation event, and throwing myself in at the deep end really helped me learn the ropes quickly. Hosting pop-ups and activations is also a big part of my job, which I find great fun as it’s brilliant to hear feedback on the blends and meet new people.

I think this role has taught me that I’m more of an extrovert than I thought I was, which is good news considering talking to people is what I do! I always used to think my social battery was a lot shorter, but as it turns out, I get a lot of my energy and motivation from the people I meet.

I’ve also really enjoyed contributing to a recent team project, where I was looking into the sustainability of our cocoa. Being part of a company that sources products in an ethical, sustainable way is super important to me and researching it in more depth appealed to the studious part of my brain; it was rewarding on multiple levels.

Just last week, I attended my first coffee cupping, where I tasted a range of different coffees from all over the world, learning how origin, roast, and processing methods influence flavour profiles and quality. This experience perfectly captures how this role is constantly broadening my horizons and making me excited for what lies ahead.
