Behind the Scenes: Life as a Blendsmiths Sales Exec
The past few months have been a whirlwind. I joined Blendsmiths as a Sales Executive in November 2025, and since then no two days have looked the same.
I've always enjoyed variety in my work, so stepping into a role where every week brings something different has suited me perfectly.
Every Day Is Different
Some days I'm working from home on outreach, helping create sales materials and supporting new opportunities. Other days I'm out visiting cafés, meeting coffee shop owners and introducing them to our range of speciality drinks.
Thankfully, our blends do most of the hard work once people taste them. Although remembering every drink and exactly how to make it was definitely a challenge in those first few weeks.
Learning by Doing
My very first week finished with me making chai and hot chocolate at a live activation event. It was very much a case of being thrown in at the deep end, but it turned out to be one of the best ways to learn.
Pop-ups and activations have quickly become one of my favourite parts of the role. Meeting new people, introducing them to the blends and hearing their reactions first-hand is incredibly rewarding.
Finding Confidence
One thing this role has taught me is that I'm much more of an extrovert than I ever realised.
I used to think my social battery ran out fairly quickly, but it turns out I gain a lot of energy from meeting new people and having conversations throughout the day. Considering that's a big part of my role, it's been a welcome discovery.
Looking Beyond the Cup
I've also really enjoyed contributing to a recent team project exploring the sustainability of our cocoa sourcing.
Working for a company that genuinely values ethical and sustainable sourcing is something that's important to me, so having the opportunity to research it in greater depth was both fascinating and rewarding.
Broadening My Horizons
One of my most recent highlights was attending my first coffee cupping. Tasting coffees from around the world while learning how origin, processing methods and roasting influence flavour gave me a whole new appreciation for speciality coffee.
Experiences like this perfectly capture what I've enjoyed most about working at Blendsmiths. Every week brings new opportunities to learn, meet interesting people and deepen my understanding of an industry that's full of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation.
I'm excited to see what the next few months have in store.
