my blendsmiths journey begins!

It’s crazy to think I’ve been at Blendsmiths for over 3 months now. The weeks have felt like a whirlwind, but the team feel like a group of people I’ve known for ages.

Not being from the food and drink industry, the first few weeks were learning, learning, and more learning. From computer systems to the life cycle of a matcha leaf, I got stuck into it all. I spent a lot of my time learning our products and accounts and understanding how much goes into getting the drinks into the hands of customers. One thing I didn’t expect is the level of detail that there is within the industry, especially with coffee. Who knew you could stretch milk? Luckily for me, the team has amazing industry knowledge and always has answers to my many questions.

It’s nice to look back over the last few months and realise just how much I’ve grown in my role. The days are busy with a lot of problem solving to do, but it’s an environment I love to be in. A highlight for me was attending Tallinn coffee festival in Estonia. It was an amazing event with an incredible atmosphere, and the drinks did not stop flowing for a second! It was great to see how Blendsmiths provokes curiosity in people — not knowing what pink chai is, but simply having to try it. It was so rewarding to put all my learning into practice and connect with people who are just as passionate about the creativity, and future of the industry.
