my blendsmiths journey begins!
Three Months at Blendsmiths
It’s crazy to think I’ve been at Blendsmiths for over three months now. The weeks have felt like a whirlwind, but the team already feel like a group of people I’ve known for years.
Looking back, it’s amazing how quickly everything has come together, and how much I’ve learnt in such a short space of time.
Learning a New Industry
Coming from outside the food and drink industry, my first few weeks were all about learning. From getting to grips with new computer systems to understanding the life cycle of a matcha leaf, there was something new to discover every day.
I spent a lot of time learning about our products, our customers and everything that goes into getting our drinks into people's hands. One thing I didn’t expect was just how much detail there is within the industry, especially when it comes to coffee. Who knew you could stretch milk?
Thankfully, the team has an incredible amount of industry knowledge and has always been happy to answer my endless questions.
Putting It Into Practice
It’s rewarding to look back over the last few months and realise just how much I’ve grown in my role. The days are busy, with plenty of problem-solving, but it’s exactly the kind of environment I enjoy.
One of the biggest highlights so far was attending the Tallinn Coffee Festival in Estonia. It was an amazing event with an incredible atmosphere, and the drinks certainly didn’t stop flowing.
Seeing Blendsmiths spark curiosity in people was brilliant. Watching visitors discover drinks like Pink Chai for the first time and simply having to give it a try reminded me how exciting innovation in this industry can be.
It was incredibly rewarding to put everything I’d learnt into practice and connect with people who are just as passionate about creativity and the future of speciality drinks.
