10 Drink Trends Taking Over Instagram

If your feed looks anything like mine, you'll have noticed a few drinks stealing the spotlight lately. From eye-catching colours to cinematic pours, here are 10 drink trends I can't seem to scroll past.

1. Cold Foam Everything

Not too long ago, cold foam felt like something reserved for American coffee chains. If you'd asked for it over here, you'd probably have been handed whipped cream instead. Fast forward to today and it's everywhere.

These days, almost any drink can be topped with a thick, creamy cloud to take it to a whole new level. Sometimes I genuinely think people are ordering the cold foam for the topping rather than the drink underneath.

Either way, it's undeniably fun (and surprisingly easy) to make, satisfying to watch and, of course, incredibly tasty. No wonder it's taking over our feeds.

2. The Greener the Better

Matcha, matcha, matcha... people just can't seem to get enough. We've gone way beyond the classic iced order. Now there are triple matcha creations, super-sized serves and menu items with more wow factor than ever.

When it comes to sipping green, more definitely seems to be more. Social media is full of the most creative pours and I'm absolutely here for it.

3. Purple Reign

Has matcha got competition? 👀 It certainly looks that way. Another colourful contender has entered the chat and it's hard to scroll without seeing it.

Ube's vibrant purple colour has made it one of this year's fastest-growing café trends. It's literally popping up everywhere, but it does make me wonder... when something looks this good on screen, do visuals start shaping how we think it will taste?

It feels like aesthetics play a bigger role than ever in how drinks are discovered, shared and talked about online.

We've seen it with matcha too – a drink that sparked plenty of debate on flavour, yet still became a staple because of how it looks, feels and fits into today's culture online.

Maybe a drink doesn't need to be universally loved to go viral. Sometimes all it takes is a colour that stops us mid-scroll.

4. The Cinematic Pour

Speaking of aesthetics, this trend's slightly different as it's not about a specific element of a drink, but more about how things are being captured right now.

I see the most beautiful shots and forget I'm on my Explore page sometimes.

We're at a point where so much can be shot on an iPhone. Macro close-ups, slow-motion pours and sensory clips that really build atmosphere. Food and drink marketing has skyrocketed.

Every detail captures a feeling, and that feeling translates into engagement... and ultimately sales. Ca-ching 💸

5. Functional Drinks

Drinks are working harder than ever, and social media can't seem to get enough of it. This trend started a while ago, but it's proved to be far more than a phase. Whether it's protein-packed blends, superfood ingredients or antioxidant-rich sips, people are looking for drinks that do a little more.

As part of a bigger shift towards more mindful choices and habits, healthy definitely doesn't have to mean boring. Blendsmiths proudly stocks a flavoursome army of caffeine-free, plant-based options that prove functional can still be fun.

6. Pistachio Fever

She's finally come out of her shell.

Once the quieter nut, often overshadowed by almonds and hazelnuts, pistachio has gone from support act to main character in record time.

The rise of Dubai Chocolate has catapulted the flavour into the spotlight, and rightfully so. From lattes to treats and pretty much everything in between, if it can be made with pistachio, chances are it already has.

If your menu is still missing its pistachio moment, you might be a little behind the trend.

7. Home Café Rituals

From dedicated coffee corners to shelves stocked with syrups and pretty glassware, people are putting just as much thought into the setup as they are the drink itself.

It's all part of a conscious effort to slow down and make everyday moments feel a bit more special. Somewhere along the way, making a brew became a ritual rather than something we rushed on autopilot.

If you've been tempted to create your own setup, we've shared a few simple ideas in our guide on how to create a home café on a budget.

8. Statement Glassware

The drink is only half the story. Ribbed glasses, vintage mug collections and oversized, funky ice cubes have become almost as important as what's inside them.

Even takeaway cups are getting an upgrade. Smaller rounded cups seem to be the new standard, and the coolest brands are sealing the deal on the spot with canning machines, making every order feel that little bit more exciting.

Presentation has always played a big role and, if you ask me, what you're sipping out of absolutely affects the taste. Fact.

9. Wait! Don't Stir Yet

The layers of a drink make it almost too pretty to finish. Film the stir and watch it all come together. If you don't, did it even exist?

The internet's a stage for visually driven drinks, with everyone trying their hand at recreating them. Those perfect gradients and clean separations sitting in the glass look too good not to copy.

Even going out with a friend can easily turn into a full shoot. You thought this was just a matcha run? No, it's a content opportunity and no one's sipping until we get the shot.

10. The Story Sells

Last but not least, it's the story behind the product.

Whether it's locally sourced ingredients, single-origin blends or brands openly sharing their process, that narrative does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to Instagram engagement. People want to know where things come from, how they're made and why they've been made that way.

And it's not always just a marketing angle either. The brands doing it well tend to really care, leaning into things with more intention.

During a recent customer visit, I couldn't get enough of the homemade fruit purées. They're a simple, cleaner way to achieve fresh flavour, and exactly the kind of detail that makes a drink feel more considered.

People feel the meaning behind what they're drinking, which creates a real sense of connection between brands and their customers.

The Bigger Picture

It's no longer just about what's in the cup. It's how it looks, how it's made and how it lives online.

Right now, drinks are doing all three better than ever – and that's exactly why these trends are sticking.

Whether you're spotting them on your feed or adding them to your own menu, one thing's clear: people aren't just buying drinks anymore, they're buying the experience that comes with them.
